Wine Advocate 94 points - From the very oldest plot of the cru next to the Rotlay, with more than 100-year-old ungrafted vines with extremely low yields--but highly aromatic berries that are as great as lentils--the 2014 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese feinherb Uralte Reben opens with a very deep, clear, concentrated and slightly flinty, highly complex bouquet with some herbal flavors. Round, piquant and highly elegant on the palate, with some nutty and almond flavors, this is a very noble and concentrated, perfectly balanced, lingeringly salty Riesling of great elegance and expression. This is world-class Mosel Riesling with an almost endless finish. It’s rather smoothly textured, but in the finest way. A Must Buy of the 2014 vintage! Great aging potential. The old plot is named Kackert and was owned by the Freiherr von Schorlemer Estate for almost 100 years. It is one of the very best parcels in the Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and this wine shows why.
