Color-A deep ruby-black with purple hints Bouquet-Blackcurrant, dark cherries and blackberries, with spices, licorice and cocoa. Taste-A very rich mouthfeel with flavors of black fruit, jam, vanilla, spice and mineral notes. The wine has firm tannins and a long lasting finish.
Vinous 90 points - Dark purple. Sexy dark berry preserve and floral pastille scents are complemented by suggestions of woodsmoke, licorice and black pepper. Round and expansive in the mouth, offering appealingly sweet blueberry and cherry-cola flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Closes supple and long, with lingering smokiness and smooth tannins. 90-92 Points  (Mar 2014)

Wine Spectator 93 points - Packed with dark plum, blackberry and anise notes at the core, laced with bay, sweet tapenade and iron on the finish. This has heft and cut, energy and length. Should cellar well. Best from 2016 through 2022. 1,700 cases made.-JM  (Feb 28 2015)

Wine Advocate 89 points - the 2012 Cornas les Terres Brulees is a soft, sexy and forward effort that gives up lots of truffle, wild herb, peppered meat and sweet darker styled fruit. It’s a hedonistic, well-made Cornas to drink over the coming decade. (Dec 2014)
