A garnet-red color, the tender and harmonious wine is perfumed with sweet red currant, cherry fruit and spices on the nose and the palate. Well-built with good depth.

Food Pairing: Red meats and liver.

Wine Spectator An understated style, but this slowly opens up to show alluring cocoa, mineral, currant paste and tobacco notes. The finish is long and supple. Shows more power and depth as it airs in the glass. Drink now through 2013. 250 cases made. Score: 91. —James Molesworth, May 15, 2007.

Wine Enthusiast A bit light, in the style of the vintage, but with wonderfully intricate spice complexity wrapped around leather and red fruit. The creamy mouthfeel gives this wine a sense of delicacy not often found in Hermitage. Drink this pretty wine over the next 7–10 years. Score: 90. —Joe Czerwinski, September 01, 2007.
