Reading the Chardonnay technical notes, I reflected on how complex they sounded until I read the work that goes into the Cab. Due to viticulturist Jim Bundschu precision, winemaker Linda Trotta has 24 distinct lots to work with to craft this fine wine. Then after all of the analysis and blending, they end up with this red wine masterpiece. Intense notes of blackberry, cassis and leather accentuate the nose. These notes continue on the palate, but adding berry jam, black currants and chocolate. It has a superbly structured with nice tannins and a long finish.
