Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren goal here was to craft and deliver a quality Cabernet Sauvignon for everyday drinking. The bouquet was intense and rich like bees and wasps circling around fresh picked grapes in the vineyard. The mouthfeel is an explosion of plum, cherry, black currants and pomegranate. A delicate outer lining of cocoa and cinnamon are wrapped conveniently in ample tannin structure giving the wine some “oomph”. It goes down easy and does not break the bank and with gas nearing $5 per gallon, this is something to look forward to at the end of the day. Cheers!

A reasonably good value is the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma, which reveals aromas and flavors of cedar, roasted herbs, black cherries, and spice. Medium-bodied with deep fruit, it is meant to be consumed over the next 4-5 years.
