Gorgeous and deep ruby as you pour it from the bottle. You are then hit with powerful scents of red fruits; raspberry, cherry and cranberry, and interesting spice notes of cassis, anise, mint and clove. Sometimes winemaker Margo Van Staaveren adds a dollop of Cabernet or Malbec, but tech notes were not available at the newsletter deadline. With fruit sourced from all over Sonoma (Alexander, Knights, Russian River and Sonoma Valley’s), it is no wonder why this wine is showing so well. Bah Humbug Sideway’s fans, drink more Merlot!
