This producer is considered by La Revue du Vin de France, Robert Parker, and Tom Stevenson to be one of the top domains of this region famed for producing high-quality wines at very reasonable prices. Composed predominately of Syrah with Grenache, Mourvedre and old-vine Carignan, this cuvée displays notes of cassis and black cherry intermixed with licorice and a hint of roasted herbs and earth. Deep, pure, silky, and hedonistic in style, it should drink nicely for 3-4 years. A real bargain that is far better than its modest price suggests! -Liz Dowty, Certified Sommelier, Santa Ana.
