Val de Flores Malbec 2004
Wine Advocate The 2004 Val de Flores Malbec was made in consultation with Michel Rolland. The grapes were sourced from a 50+ year old vineyard in the Vista Flores region of Mendoza. The wine was aged for 14 months in new French oak and bottled unfiltered. Opaque purple-colored, it offers an alluring perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, blueberry, and black cherry jam. This leads to a full-bodied, smoothly-textured, elegant Malbec with gobs of flavor, silky tannins concealed under a blanket of sweet fruit, and a long, pure finish. Built to last, it will unfurl over the next 6-8 years and drink well through 2030. Score: 92. —Jay Miller, December 2007. Wine Spectator Offers nice creamy layers of boysenberry and black currant fruit, backed by dark chocolate, meat and mineral notes. Polished, but with a nice tug of earth. Malbec. Drink now through 2008. 1,800 cases made. Score: 91. —James Molesworth, October 15, 2006. Customers who purchased this item also bought:
