Treana Mer Soleil Vineyard White 2003
Treana White is a blend of Marsanne and Viognier, two white Rhone varietals that thrive in California's Central Coast. All of the fruit is purchased from the Mer Soleil Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands, just south of Monterey Bay. The marriage of these two varietals highlights the tropical notes found in both grapes, and gives the wine a lush, cohesive palate of exciting flavors. Wine Enthusiast Treana has established this as one of the top Rhône whites in California. The ’03 is an amazing wine. It displays the fresh, keen acidity of the vineyard, which grows no reds, and detonates on the palate with tremendous apricot, papaya, mango, pineapple, tangerine, peach and mineral flavors. It’s basically dry, although there’s a touch of botrytis honey. Score: 94. —Steve Heimoff, December 15, 2006.Customers who purchased this item also bought:
