Sagelands Four Corners Merlot 2002
The bright garnet-color Merlot displays a vibrant nose of ripe Bing cherry and mixed berries with notes of violet and cocoa. This delicate and medium-bodied wine shows a great deal of flavors like Bing cherry, vanilla and a splash of blueberry. The palate is very soft and round thanks to the fine tannins. Wine Spectator Lithe and refined, with a charry tobacco edge to the raspberry and red plum flavors, lingering effectively. Drink now through 2008. 27,600 cases made. Score: 87. —Harvey Steiman, April 30, 2005.Wine Enthusiast A very pretty wine, smooth and supple, with more finesse than ever before. It displays clean plum and strawberry fruit flavors and well-managed tannins. A light touch with the American oak gives it a bit of extra flavor. Score: 87. —Paul Gregutt, April 01, 2005.
