The 2002 vintage of the SOLO Cabernet Sauvignon is the premier release of a fantastic new wine by Silverado Vineyards. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made from grapes grown exclusively in the winery's Stags Leap District Estate Vineyards, SOLO is the heart and soul of Silverado’s commitment to family-owned vineyards and distinctive Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing one distinct vineyard, one varietal. Beautiful medium-deep, glass-coating ruby color; spicy ripe cherry, cassis and blackberry tones with deeper aromas of roasted chestnuts and sandalwood and pungent notes of sweet herbs, vanilla and nutmeg. Immediately mouthfilling, with a velvety texture on the palate and toasty, very ripe, concentrated flavors, with suggestions of clove, truffle and tobacco leaf; smooth, broad and long, like a great river.

Wine Enthusiast Oh, what a perfect expression of Stags Leap this is. The 100% Cab does have a soft voluptuousness, but itÕs also strong in tannins, and packed with black currant and cherry flavors. Absolutely delicious now, and should hold and improve through 2015 at least. Score: 93. —Steve Heimoff, March 01, 2006.
